The new 2018 Bromptons are soon to be ready to order. New Brakes, better profile pads and Schwalbe Marathon Racer - Sport tyres ( Already on the Brompton builder) Brompton innovations 2018, some great improvements on the way.

1. Braking
The biggest change in the 2018 concerns the brakes: brake calipers and brake pads are newly simplified and matched even better with the Brompton.

New brake calipers:
- The brake calipers on the front and rear wheel are newly identical and only available in black
- Stiffer aluminum profiles in the tongs improve braking performance
- The more compact design and the better bearings lead to a smoother operation and less play
- Longer slots in the brake arms simplify the assembly of the brake pads
- Standardization of the screw size: 5mm Allen screw for fixing the brake calipers, the rubber and the cable.
New brake pads:
- For Brompton tailor-made rubber with curvature for the 16 "wheels: this increases the contact area on the rim flank
- The new carbon-reinforced mount makes it stiff and light
- New ripple, which repels water and dirt and improves braking performance when wet.

2. Tires
New tire: " Schwalbe Marathon Racer ". It is similar in its properties to the Brompton Kevlar, which it replaces as a standard tire.
The Schwalbe Marathon and the Schwalbe Kojak still remain configurable à la carte. For this purpose a comparison table:

3. Colours
Only very slight changes in the colours in 2018.
Raw-Lacquer: Quality improvement
The fantastic new paint shop at Brompton allows quality improvements in the Raw Lacquer (clear lacquer) lacquering. As a result, the soldering seams should be even more effective. For the Black Edition a special Raw Lacquer lacquer is applied in a dark tone.
Stardust removed from colour palette
Due to a lack of demand Stardust special paint is removed from the colour palette.

清漆也改制程…但还是不保证防锈：哈哈

刹车变成了锻造，改进了刹车皮，原来伊诺华代工的标准胎替换更了marathon racer，改进清漆工艺，增加暗黑清漆配色，移除星空配色

很早之前就知道多了清漆黑色，原来是换油漆了，不知道原来的质量相比之前提升多少

一体的就是比分体高级，比如说一体刹车皮。

小布应该搞个古铜色，能比清漆吸引。

还有就是马拉松的胎，没有一路滑的胎好，我觉得2013-2017胎好，好过绿标胎，马拉松等于加重了，扒胎装胎也困难一点
